Mohawk

Mohawk is a beautiful and intelligent potbellied pig that came to us from the Northern California Potbellied Pig Rescue. As a young pig Mohawk was severely mauled by dogs and taken to a nearby city shelter. He was provided vet care through the rescue group and soon went into a foster home in the Elk Grove area. At two years of age he came to live with us at Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary in order to provide us with an endless amount of entertainment, excitement and love. Apparently Mo doesn't hold a grudge either. He enjoys roaming his pasture with Barney our oldest dog. It's a common site to see Mo in the pasture, head down and tail wagging a hundred miles per hour.

If you haven't scratched and potbellied pig's belly and watch them roll on to their side, you haven't lived!

Rainbow

Rainbow (aka Princess Petunia) came from a very unfortunate situation out of the Sunol area of Northern California. Her previous guardian loved her but could not provide a proper environment for her so she joined us and bonded with Mohawk after some very serious "conversations" with him. Rainbow is over 10 years old and is providing Mo some much needed wisdom and direction in life. That is, when she is awake!

Rainbow now has a life of eating, sleeping (a lot!), fresh air, sunshine, yummy hay and water and the ever important and glamorous mud pit on a warm day. Although she protests loudly (and I mean loudly!) she will also tolerate a summertime hosing off before her dinner meal of pellets and fresh vegetables and fruit.
