On Saturday, August 14th (12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.), join Archie and the Gang for a work party at the sanctuary. We will be assembling our new Harvest Home Hay boxes along with creating new Barndog Beds for future sales to support our rescue work. As a special thanks to work party volunteers, we will serve free veggie dogs. To attend, email us in advance.

Join us for our adoption event at the East Bay SPCA in Dublin from 11 am to 4 pm. Following the adoption event, from 4 to 5 pm, will be the Opening Party for the East Bay SPCA’s BUNNY ART SHOW. Our bunnies and rabbits are the stars of the show! Our rescues are featured in original artwork by talented Bay Area artists.

Buy a lovely work of art & adopt the bunny too!!!

The art show is a diverse show which includes both children’s artwork and works from well-known artists. Come meet the artists and our bunnies at the reception. Refreshments and light snacks will be served. Everyone is welcome. The art show runs through the end of September.

Sometimes it’s better to eat the camera than to smile for the camera, according to Coconut the Goat.

Goldie and Kisses have been in their new home for a couple weeks, and we just got a happy update! These two bunnies were from the big 120+ Martinez rabbit rescue, and were the sweetest and friendliest foster bunnies this foster parent has ever had. Lucky for you, there are still MANY very friendly rabbits left from this group who are looking for homes! See eastbayrabbit.petfinder.com to see all the bunnies still looking for homes! Lucky for these two, they have found their forever home and are getting spoiled rotten already. Here’s the update:

Here are some pictures I took of Goldie and Kisses aka Ginger and Sally. I’m still trying to figure out what they like and don’t like in their condo. I recently added carpeting on the top level and Ginger (Goldie) really seem to like it. Sally likes the bottom level better but does to spend time on top with Ginger. Sally really enjoys her chew toy. She destroying a willow ball overnight so I bought her a willow basket to sit in and chew as she wish. I’ve introduced more greens in their diet. They have tried basil, parsley, roman lettuce and mustard green. They have been giving them their exercise on the deck while I read my book. Ginger will run and spin with joy while Sally chews on my drying rack.

Join us at the Rabbit Center for food and fun, and meet the Martinez 100+. All the rabbits from this large local rescue will be in attendance. And if that isn’t enough fun for you, there will be face painting and food booths. Learn more by clicking here.

wilson

Wilson’s new family came to take him to his ‘forever home’ last weekend following his scheduled recheck by Dr. Harvey.  That’s his damaged eye in the above photo, and as you can tell, it’s healed well and is almost as good as new.  You can read about it in his previous blog posts on June 14, June 7 and May 26 (which has a link to a photo showing how bad it was when Harvest Home rescued him).  Next up: getting neutered when he’s old enough.

His new family sends us regular updates about him, including this one from last night:

“Wilson’s new habitat arrived today and he moved from his cage, into his playpen.  Of course, he has lots of free-running and exploring time… but he seems to like his new playpen too.

Wilson is very social and affectionate.  He follows us around, loves to be pet, and allows us to hold and snuggle him for short periods of time.  He is a very sweet bunny.  He has adjusted to his new home and family very well… he has had no potty accidents in his cage, and only a couple accidents when free-running around the house (to be expected and if there is a litterbox nearby, he uses it).  He is eating well.”

We’ll post new updates and photos as we get ‘em.
